Veteran Families and Carers Support

Anxious Minds, has been working with veteran families and carers for the past four years in the North East, we recognise the immense sacrifices made not only by our brave service members but also by their families and carers. Our mission is to provide comprehensive support to veteran families and carers, ensuring they receive the care, resources, and assistance they deserve. We understand that the transition from military to civilian life can be challenging, and our dedicated programmes are designed to ease this transition, foster community, and promote well-being.

Comprehensive Assistance Programmes

Our support services for veteran families and carers encompass a wide range of needs. From financial assistance to educational resources, we are committed to providing practical and impactful help. Our financial aid programmes assist families facing economic hardships, offering referrals to emergency funds for unexpected expenses and grants for long-term needs.

Mental Health and Wellbeing

Mental health is a cornerstone of our support efforts. We offer counselling services, support groups, and workshops to help family members and carers cope with the unique stressors associated with supporting a veteran with a mental health or physical injury. Our team of licensed professionals is trained to address issues such as PTSD, Anxiety, Depression,and Abuse ensuring that both veterans and their families and carers receive the care they need.

Educational Resources

Education is a key to empowerment, and we provide a variety of educational resources for both young people and partners of veterans. Our  programmes with Reed in partnership and the Learning Curve Group and other local providers helps families and carers get FREE, vocational training, and continuing education courses.

Employment and Career Services

Transitioning from military to civilian employment can be daunting. Our career services are designed to help veterans and their partners find meaningful employment. We offer CV writing workshops, job search assistance, and networking opportunities with employers who value the skills and experiences that military families bring to the workforce.

Community Building

Building a strong community is at the heart of what we do. We host regular events and activities that bring veteran families and carers together, fostering a sense of belonging and mutual support. From family fun days to peer mentoring programmes, our community initiatives help build lasting relationships and provide a network of support.

Advocacy and Outreach

We also engage in advocacy efforts to ensure that veteran families and carers receive the recognition and benefits they deserve. We work closely with policymakers to improve legislation affecting veterans and their families, and we provide outreach services to connect families with local resources and organisations.
