Durham Veteran Recovery College

Durham Veteran Recovery College

Durham Veteran Recovery College provides a safe, welcoming and supportive space for ex-forces, family members and carers across County Durham. Through our coffee mornings and support groups, we bring people together to connect, share experiences and build trusted relationships with others who understand the unique challenges that can come with military life, transition and recovery.

Our weekly sessions offer more than just a cup of coffee. They provide peer support, friendship, practical guidance and a sense of belonging. Whether someone is ex serving, a family member or a carer, the college offers a calm and friendly environment where people can talk openly, reduce isolation and access wider support when they need it.

The team at Durham Veteran Recovery College also has lived experience through family connections to the ex-forces community, helping us understand the pressures faced not only by veterans, but by the families and carers who stand alongside them. This personal connection helps create a warm, respectful and understanding space where everyone is valued, supported and reminded that they are not alone.
