Trusthouse Charitable Foundation Funds Award Winning Veteran Families Project.
North East Veteran Families Recovery College and Support Service Secures Vital Funding.
The North East Veteran Families Recovery College and Support Service has been awarded a significant three-year grant from the Trusthouse Charitable Foundation. This crucial funding will enable the charity to enhance its support for veterans and their families in the North East region.
The grant will primarily address two key areas:
- Bridging the Gap in Mental Health Services: With NHS veterans’ mental health services often facing long waiting times, this funding will allow the Recovery College to provide interim support for veterans and their families. This stopgap measure aims to ensure that those in need receive timely assistance while awaiting NHS treatment.
- Long-Term Transition Support: The funding will also bolster programs designed to aid veterans and their families as they transition from military to civilian life. This comprehensive support will cover various aspects of reintegration, including employment guidance, housing assistance and ongoing mental health support.
The Recovery College plans to use the funds to:
- Expand their team of specialized counsellors and support staff
- Develop new workshops and courses tailored to veterans’ needs
- Improve outreach programs to connect with more veterans in the region
- Enhance collaboration with other local veteran support organizations
This grant from the Trusthouse Charitable Foundation represents a significant step forward in addressing the unique challenges faced by veterans and their families in the North East. By providing both immediate assistance and long-term support, the Recovery College aims to make a lasting positive impact on the lives of those who have served their country.
